What is CTC % in Activated Carbon?
CTC stands for Carbon Tetra Chloride.
CTC % shows activated carbon’s capacity to adsorb and it’s expressed as a W/W %.
CTC % describes the internal porosity of materials indicating how effectively it can trap gases.
So, CTC % is majorly considered for air filtration application
CTC % is also universally accepted as a means of specifying the degree of activation or quality of activated carbon.
Commercially available carbons range from 20% to 90% CTC activity.
For some rare applications it can also go upto 100% CTC
